Flu Reports Are Highest In Bergen County This Week; Thousands Ill In NJ

With flu season kicking into high gear this season, this week was the worst yet in New Jersey.

More than 2,500 new cases were reported in the past week, bringing this season's total to 7,332 as of Jan. 27 in the state, according to the latest report by the state's department of health.

The most cases were reported in Bergen County (972). Passaic County had a total of 245 cases reported.

A 4-year-old girl was the state's first flu-related death this season, among the 37 children who died this year, according to the CDC.
